CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATED IN MONACO!

Chinese New Year, the most important festival in the Chinese calendar, was celebrated in the Principality on 11 February during an exceptional evening organised by the Monegasque association ‘Monaco-China’ with the support of the Monegasque Embassy in China.

On 23 January 2026, H.E. Mrs Marie-Pascale Boisson, Ambassador of Monaco to China, attended the opening of the "Colors!" exhibition at the Beijing Museum of Art alongside Mrs Yan Lan, Consul of Monaco in Beijing, Mrs Sylvie Biancheri, Managing Director of the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, and many other dignitaries, in the inauguration of the "Colors!" exhibition at the Minsheng Art Museum in Beijing.

Monaco takes part in the first-ever hearing of candidates for the post of Secretary-General of La Francophonie

On 29 June 2026, the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie (CMF) was held in Paris. For the first time since the establishment of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), the Conference brought together its Member States and Governments to hear the four candidates for the post of Secretary-General of La Francophonie for the 2027–2030 term.

On 17 and 18 June 2026, Monaco took part in the 11th session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Led by H.E. Ms Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Principality of Monaco to UNESCO, the Monegasque delegation comprised Ms Célia Bernasconi, Director of the Heritage Institute, Ms Séverine Dusaintpère, Deputy Permanent Delegate, and Eden Mathis, intern.

Since 15 May 2026, Monaco has held the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Alongside its political agenda, the Presidency has been accompanied by a rich cultural programme in Strasbourg, the first chapter of which has been firmly dedicated to music through five events showcasing the diversity and creativity of the Principality's musical scene.
