More than 300 guests accepted the invitation to the 4th "China Night," which took place on 30 September at the Yacht Club of Monaco.  This event has now become an unmissable part of Monaco Yacht Show.  Over the past few years, "China Night," organised under the aegis of the Embassy of Monaco in China and Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, has become a "must" for networking between the Principality and the Asian continent.

In his welcoming speech, Mr.Bernard d’Alessandri, Secretary General of the Yacht Club of Monaco, recalled Monaco's closeness to China, a country that is constantly opening up more and more to the world of yachting.  H.E. Ms. Catherine Fautrier, Ambassador of Monaco to China and Mr. Alexandre Heng, CEO of Blu Inc Media then thanked the guests for their loyalty and enthusiasm.  "Monaco Week" and its counterpart event "China Night" were an opportunity to forge stronger links between the People's Republic of China and the Principality of Monaco and deepen discussions at the economic, touristic, environmental and cultural levels.

The 2016 "China Night" offered a particularly full programme of events.  Hantang Culture, a Chinese production company for the cinema and TV, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its series "A World of Excellence" in Monaco.  The aim of the series is to promote the cultural heritage and lifestyle of foreign countries.  The first episodes of this series of documentaries, created in 2006, were devoted to the Principality.  Hantang broadcasted the documentaries on Monaco via 50 television channels, at 50 airports and on seven major Asian airlines, with an audience of 1.3 billion people.

The Chinese National Day, celebrated the following day, was a chance for many Chinese participants to prolong their stay in the Principality and the region and make the most of their week of national holidays.

The institutional partners of "China Night" all gathered at this annual meeting:  Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Monaco Yacht Show, the Société des Bains de Mer de Monte–Carlo, the Yacht Club of Monaco, Monaco Economic Board and Monaco–China Cooperation Association. For the second consecutive year, Isabell Kristensen, founder of a Monaco-based Couture house, offered a fashion parade on the theme of "Beauties of the Mediterranean."  Twenty models presented a world preview of the new collection.

Veuve Cliquot Champagne, wines from Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet, Boucheron high jewelryand Alex Simone home fragranceswere also partners of the 2016 event. On the Chinese side, the following were represented:  the renowned alcohol brand Moutai, Cubata Cigars Gold Ring, who had created a special series flavoured with Moutai especially for this evening event, and the Chinese shipyard Pride Mega Yachts.
