After Lisbon, where he spoke from the podium at the United Nations Conference on the Oceans, H.S.H. Prince Albert II traveled to Oran as part of the 19th Mediterranean Games. Welcomed on Wednesday evening at the Ahmed Ben Bella international airport in Oran by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, the sovereign expressed his warm thanks to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for this kind invitation, congratulating Algeria, people and government, for the excellent organization and the great success of this sporting event. Before leaving Algeria this afternoon, H.S.H. Prince Albert II, member of the International Olympic Committee and President of the Monegasque Olympic Committee, was as close as possible to the "red and white" delegation to encourage the athletes.

And the Monegasque anthem resounds in the Algerian sky

He attended the quarter-final of Xiaoxin Yang (table tennis) who easily won against Turkey's Altinkaya 4-0 (11-5, 11-3, 11-9,11-7) and had lunch afterwards with representatives of the Principality. In the semi-finals, the Monegasque table tennis player was opposed in the afternoon to the Spaniard Xiao Yao. Very applied, Xiaoxin Yang was intractable, with another victory 4-0 (11-5, 11-7, 11-6, 11-7). In the final, against the Portuguese Shao, the Monegasque got off to an ideal start (11-4). Concentrated, she continued her march forward (11-8, 11-7), before concluding in the 4th set (11-8). Magnificent performance by Xiaoxin Yang who won gold (after silver in Tarragona in 2018), offering the first medal of these Games to the Principality and thus making the Monegasque anthem resound in the sky of Oran.

On Wednesday, three (laser) sailing races were scheduled. The drop in the wind only made it possible to do two. Jérémy Moutout once again made a good impression by finishing 6th and 10th (11th provisional place). Today, he finished 13th and 18th in rounds 7 and 8. In cycling (time trial), Antoine Berlin was forced to retire (mechanical breakage before the start). In athletics, Charlotte Afriat had a big fatigue on Wednesday evening and unfortunately could not line up for the 100m this evening.
